harry potter fan fiction
Lots of wizard-rock bands probably see themselves as pioneers of the genre, but the Switchblade Kittens really did get there first, with their 2000 Potter anthem, “Ode to Harry.”
But the band hadn’t set out to be a wizard rock band — they had non-Harry-rific tunes, such as a punk riffing on the Titanic theme that got them play on KROQ. But after three million downloads, spots on the Warped Tour, and thousands of emails begging for more, the Kittens obliged with a full-fledged wizard rock album for their sophomore effort, called “The Weird Sisters.”
“It’s not a collection of songs about plot summaries,” lead singer Drama says, “but a reaction to the emotion and strengths that are encountered in the books and in a magical life.” Better enjoy it now — their next album, “Rebel Princess,” threatens to cover Meg Cabot books instead.
MTV’s Harry Potter expert, Jennifer Vineyard, has annointed the Switchblade Kittens the best Potter-inspired band of ‘07. Check out her full top ten here. Is she out of her muggle mind? Sound off below.

Yes, they started it. In 2000. 2000! So why are they the best wrock band of 2007? And if you knew anything about this awesome fandom you would know that its all about love and friendship and none of this ranking and rivalry bullcrap. And your list left out some of the actually best bands of the YEAR. This fandom is all about keeping things indie and sticking it to the man. You just did it a huge disservice by showing the general public who was probably unaware of wrock a list that means nothing to the real fans. I’m really dissappointed and hope that you quit calling yourself an expert on subjects you obviously don’t have enough knowledge of.
