Signed copy of Deathly Hallows to be auctioned for charity
Victoria, BC –- 5 December 2007 -- A signed copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is among the items in an AbeBooks.com's online charity auction taking place between December 6 and 11.

Up for grabs is a signed copy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, obtained by an AbeBooks employee at J.K. Rowling's recent appearance in Toronto, plus memorabilia from the event including the ticket, a set of Harry Potter stickers, a commemorative bookmark, a door hanger, and a poster.

Earlier this year, AbeBooks.com sold a signed copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for $5,500.

Also up for auction are a hand-numbered signed limited edition of Margaret Atwood's The Door, an illustrated edition of Life of Pi signed by Yann Martel and signed copies of Kiran Desai's two novels, The Inheritance of Loss and Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard.

The proceeds from the signed books charity auction will go to two good causes, the United Way's Project Literacy in Victoria, BC (AbeBooks' hometown) and Canada Pen. Previous AbeBooks.com auctions have raised more than $15,000 in total for good causes.

The signed book auction will close at 3pm (EST) / 8pm (GMT) on Tuesday 11 December.
